Olava (PDF)

From the author: Olava is my first novel. The story is my heart and my soul and it was an inner healing journey for me to write the story. The novel is the dramatic life journey of the girl Olava whose name means ancestor and inheritor. Although the events in Olava’s life is fiction, there are many elements from my own life and many readers have told me that this could be their story, too. The book was published in Danish in 2012, in Norwegian in 2014 and in English in 2017. You can read reviews of the book on my webpage.

Anne-Lene Bleken (b. 1966) comes from Lillehammer in Norway with strong roots in the Western part of the country where her mother’s family come from. She has lived in Aarhus in Denmark since 1989 where she has an MA in English and Media. Bleken published her first novel, Olava, in 2012 and the sequel Anna Veronica in 2020. She is also the author of Tulle, Trulle, Mulle and the Humans, The Mollimi People from Deep Space, The Donkey, Two Short Stories, Wild and Wondrous Stories from the Waterfront, Stories for Sillyheads and Other People, Miss Susie with the Magical Sunglasses, Winnie the White Wolf Who Wandered the World and My Walk with Jesus Christ.
